The associate degree in Letters, Arts, and Sciences (LAS) broadens your understanding, interests, and skills in fundamental areas of knowledge. It provides the skills needed for entry-level employment and the preparation you may need to pursue a baccalaureate degree in LAS or other degree programs offered at Penn State. The associate degree credits are highly transferable into other Penn State programs. For example, many criminal justice majors earn an associate's degree in LAS on their way to a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
Because LAS cuts across disciplines, you can study with faculty from almost any department on campus.
