Penn State Fayette Commencement Celebrates Class of 2014
One-hundred, forty-two students proudly marked a milestone in their lives as they received academic degrees May 10th during the 44th commencement ceremony at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus.
Dr. Arlene Hall, interim chancellor of Penn State Fayette, conferred degrees on 102 candidates for associate’s degree and 40 candidates for bachelor’s degree. In her remarks that morning, Dr. Hall said, “Although this ceremony marks the end of an important chapter in the lives of the young men and women assembled before us … it also signifies the charting of a new course, with new goals and exciting opportunities.”
Keynote speaker was the Hon. Nancy Vernon, judge of the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas. Judge Vernon told those about to graduate: “Dare to dream. The possibilities are endless. I stand before you today as proof.”
Also, two outstanding students spoke on behalf of the classes of 2014. Robert Barton represented those receiving an associate’s degree, and Kelsey Conn was the representative of candidates for a bachelor’s degree.
