Enjoy authentic German entertainment and celebrate the German culture with the Augsburg German Band, performing at noon on Monday, Oct. 7 in the Williams Building Student Center at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus. This event is free admission and is open to the public.

The Augsburg German Band planted its roots several years ago when Chris Decker was stationed in Augsburg, Germany with the United States Army. While there, Decker embraced his German ancestry through music. Upon returning to the States, he began playing the tuba and soon after the Augsburg German Band was formed.

The Augsburg German Band plays its Bavarian style of music throughout the year at Oktoberfests, clubs, and festivals in western Pennsylvania and throughout the tri-state area.

“This event is a great opportunity for the local community to enjoy great music and perhaps learn more about the German culture.” says Chad Long, Assistant Director of Student Affairs at Penn State Fayette.

This event is sponsored by the Coalition for Equity, a group that invites faculty, staff, students and community members to participate in activities that explore social differences, cultivate respect, and celebrate the many diverse values, people, practices, and traditions that exist in the world.
